{49/365} Emily should have been in school today but instead we spent an hour and a half at the ENT specialist. She has this crazy, HUGE tonsil that will soon grow feet and walk out of her mouth! The poor kid had strep 7 times last year and although she has been OK this year, that tonsil is a constant reminder. ;) So the question is, to take out or not to take out. I'm opting out for now and trying to find an alternate solution. In the meantime, Liam had his ears checked by the audiologist AFTER we waited 45 minutes to be seen. Needless to say, it was a disaster and we will be going back next week. The only upside to this experience? They had a great kids waiting room with a table, toys and TV!

Tonsils! Ugh! My youngest had hers out a couple of years ago, and she was in PAIN afterwards. It was a long few days! She HATED, and I mean HATED the liquid Tylenol. She would get so upset even thinking about taking it, that she did her recovery without pain meds! It was awful, but she did it. I had to keep on her to drink, because drinking hurt her throat (no pain meds), and she didn't want to drink. But I forced her every step of the way. Like I said, long few days afterwards!!

However, I know some kids who had absolutely positively NO problems whatsoever afterwards. Everyone is different, and you just never know!

P.S. I'm so glad we got it done. No more sore throats for her since then! She never got strep throat too much, but she did have a lot of throat pain!
